VARIATION OF LUNISOLAR TIDAL FORCE AND THE EARTHQUAKES IN NORTH CHINA

ZHAO JUAN HAN YAN-BEN LI ZHI-AN (Beijing Astronomical Observatory, National Astronomical Observatories, CAS, Beijing 100012,China)  
In this paper, from studying the relationship between the variation of lunisolar tidal force and the activity of the 29 earthquakes (Ms5. 5) in North China from 1900-1992, we find, occurrence times of these earthquakes have obvious correlation with the variation of south-north horizontal component of the lunisolar tidal force in seismic region, and this component of the lunsolar tidal force plays an important part in trggering earthquakes.
