THE BASIC PRINCIPLE OF A NEW EM METHOD OF EXPLORATION

WANG YOU-SHAN (Department of Earth and Space Sciences,University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China)  
The conditions for different strata in the range of a few kilometers depth to be discriminated from one another by the EM method of expolration are discussed. It is found out that the "stepping" superposition of the complex amplitudes or the wave shapes of the electric field intensities of incident wave and reflected waves is needed in order to obtain a unique solution. It is especially described that the method is given by the superposition of wave-shape-fronts for surveying the electric conductivity and the thickness of a stratum and the depth of an interface. The application of the new EM method in practice is possible.
