SPHEROIDAL DISPLACEMENT DUE TO POINT DISLOCATIONS IN A SPHERICALEARTH:Ⅰ.THEORY

This paper studies the spheroidal displacement causedby point dislocations in a SNREI model. We discuss integration method of the equations of equilibrium with an arbitrary point dislocation expressed by source functions.We define dislocation Love numbers to describe the elastic deformation of the earth raised by the shear, tensile dislocations and explosion, which can be expressed by four independent components: a vertical strike slip, a vertical dip slip, a tensile opening on a horizontal plane, and a tensile opening on a vertical plane.We derive formulas for calculating the displacement caused by an arbitrary point dislocation at arbitrary position of the earth.
