DTS SCHEME FOR FORECASTING THE INTENSITY OF TROPICAL CYCLONE

Niu Xuexin (Institute of Meteorology, Zhejiang Province)  
In this paper the parameter and some physical factors, which reflect the intensity change of tropical cyclone, are derived from dynamical and thermodynamics equations. The relationship between these factors and the intensity change of tropical cyclone is treated with statistical method, and the forecast equations for the intensity change of tropical cyclone are obtained. The fitting of 124 examples and the forecast of typhoon intensity change during 1981 show that the linear forecast equations are available to certain degree.
