Screening cell proliferation activity of novel isoflavone and steroid derivatives

Objective To investigate whether novel isoflavone and steroid derivatives have better anti-tumor activity.Methods The anti-proliferation activities of 28 novel isoflavone and steroid derivatives upon Hela cells and MCF-7 cells were analyzed by MTT,then compared with that of Genistein.Results Raw screening of the 28 compounds by MTT indicated isoflavone derivatives F11,ZF3,ZF4,ZF7 and steroid derivatives ZE2 exerted more obvious suppression on the proliferation of tumor cell lines than Genistein.Conclusion Most of the novel isoflavone and steroid derivatives inhibit the proliferation of tumor cell lines.The compounds obtained from the screening have more potent cytotoxicity on tumor cells than Genistein and are worth further investigation.
