STUDIES ON THE GENUS CHRYSOCOSMIUS BEGGI FROM CHINA (DIPTERA:TACHINIDAE)

In the present paper seven species of the genus Chrysocoimius are reported from China, four of them are described as new to science and two are newly recorded in China. All type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, Beijing.1. Chrysocosmius ocellosetus sp. nov. (fig. 1)This species seems to closely related to Chr. strictus Aldrich in structure of male genitalia, but is easily distinguished from the latter by the exceptionally strong ocellar setae, being sub-equal in size to the strongest frontal and vertical setae; narrower antenna, of which the 3rd segment 11/3 times as wide as parafacial; frons 5/6 of eye width, interfrontal wider than parafron-tal, with parallel sides and a little narrowed at middle; apical scutellar setae absent; cerci straight, flattened dorso-ventrally and curved forward at apex being spoon-like in shape.Body length 6-8mm.Holotype ♂, Lanping 26°N, 99°E, 2700 m, Yunnan, 22. (fig. 2)This species is closely related to Chr. auratus (Fallen), but distinguished from the latter by lack of presutural ia; apical scutellar setae very weak and hair-like, parallel and directed backward; pteropleural seta unitary; cerci of male shorter, triangular in shape, with a blunt ending flattened from sides.Body length 7 mm.Holotype ♂, Deqen 28.5°N, 99°E, 3200 m, Yunnan, 21. Ⅶ. 1982. allotype ♀, Zhongdian 27°N, 99°E, 3200 m, Yunnan, 8. Ⅷ. 1981, all by Zhang Xue-zhong.3. Chryzocosmius bidentatus sp. nov. (fig. 3)This species very closely resembles Chr. auratus (Fallen) in general appearance, but in its male genitalia, cerci subrectangular, slightly narrowed at apex and dentilated ventrally on each side.Body length 8-9 mm.Holotype ♂, Mishan 45°N, 131°E, Heilongjiang, 19. Ⅷ. 1970; allotype ♀, Mishan, Hc-ilongjiang, 12. Ⅷ. 1970; paratypes: 1♂, ditto, l♂, Xiaowutaishan 40°N, 115°E, 1400 m, Hebel, 14. Ⅶ. 1964.4. Chrysocosmius euholopticus sp. nov. (fig. 4)This species is very similar to Chr. strictus Aldrich, hut easily differentiated by the following charcters: frons of male exceptionally narrow, interfrontal area triangular, narrowed backward and turned into a line in front of ocellar trange, 3rd antennal scgmet narrower then the parafacial; parafrontal and parafacial rather densely clothed with fine and long black hairs; tibiae dull yellowish or reddish brown; cerci and surstyllus of male weakly curved backward.Body length 7.5-8 mm.Holotype ♂, Batang 30°N, 99°E, 3500 m, Sichuan, 16.
