In the present paper, Amphisternus Germar, 1843 is reported from China for the first time and a new species, A. rufituberus sp. nov. is described from Yunnan, China. A key to known species of the genus is given. Holotype and one paratypy specimens of the new species are deposited in Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and one paratype is deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.Amphisternus rufituberus sp. nov. (Figs.1-10)Body oval, strongly convex, not very shining, colour black with orange-yellow tubercles and markings on elytra. Length: ♀10.7-11.3?mm, width: 5.2-5.8?mm.Holotype ♀, Jinghong, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China, 850?m, 29 June 1958, ZHENG Le-Yi leg. Paratypes 2♀♀, same data as holotype.This new species is similar to A. corallifer Gerstaecker, 1857, but differs from the latter in the following characters: the former antennae and each femur black, lateral sulci of pronotum longer and almost extending to middle of it, and lateral margins arrive at elytral extremity. As to the latter: scape of antenna and the outer half of each femur blood-red; lateral sulci of pronotum shorter and its lateral margins vanish at near apical 5/6.
