THEORETICAL CALCULATION AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF REGENERATOR ON ACOUSTIC CHARACTERISTICS IN THE THERMOACOUSTIC APPARATUS

An acoustic-driven thermoacoustic device has been designed and tested, which is used to investigate the acoustic characteristics of regenerator. Using correlation-spectra analysis in theory,the reflection coefficient, the complex acoustic impedance, the transmission loss and the phase difference between the incident wave and the reflected wave of regenerator in the thermoacoustic apparatus are obtained.The acoutic characteristic of regenerator is analyzed using pressure signals.The influence of the acoutic characteristic of regenerator is discussed under conditions of the different heat exchanger and the different heat power.The results obtained will be helpful to the futher investigations on the model of regenerator.
