Phase modulation of resonator in the traveling wave thermoacoustic prime mover

The mechanism of phase modulation is investigated based on the model of two degree of freedom in the thermoacoustic prime mover consisting of a looped tube and the resonator.Investigation shows that resonator not only determines the frequency of system,deposits energy and stabilization of operating conditions,but also modulates the phase of acoustic field in the traveling wave thermoacoustic prime mover.The influences of the different types of resonators(including resonator,cone and compliance) and the different volumes of compliances(10 L,20 L, 40 L) on the phase modulation and acoustic power are analyzed in the regenerator.The fluid parcels are analyzed at different positions in the regenerator and p-V figures are present.It is inferred that the resonator can modulate the phase of acoustic field,and the compliance is preferred to the optimization of acoustic distribution in the regenerator.The volume of compliance has a little influence on the acoustic distribution.
