Modeling and analysis of cryo-heat pipe condensing part based on SMES application

Aiming at reducing the axes-orientation temperature difference of superconducting magnet,which mainly results from a long conducting path between cooling head of G-M refrigerator and magnet in Superconducting Magnet Energy Storage(SMES) system,a novel method of applying cryoheat pipe is described.A heat pipe condensing model is established that focuses on the coefficient of convection heat transfer and consideration of the tangent friction stress between interfaces of two phase flow.This model is superior to a traditional one in analyzing the massive heat transfer in periods of lowering the temperature and quench.
