One approach to quench decision of a high temperature superconductor(HTS) magnet

The high temperature superconductor(HTS) magnet was made of Bi2223/Ag tape,situated on the rotor of HTS synchronous motor and rotates at active state,new challenges must be put forward for quench detection.The experiments showed that for detecting quench quickly and accurately the empirical criterion Ec=1 μV/cm was not enough.One quench decision approach dv/dt was presented through analyzing experimental data.Based on the voltage-ampere characteristics of the HTS magnet,this method sets corresponding threshold values of change rate of voltage according to cases of voltage change for every excitation stage.
