STUDY OF FUZZY POWER SYSTEM STABILIZER BASED ON SLIDE MODE CONTROL

To improve the dynamic performance of fuzzy power system stabilizer (FPSS), a control strategy for FPSS based on slide mode control is put forward. In this scheme, the proposed PSS consists of main controller, self-organizing controller and slide mode controller. The basic output signal of PSS is produced by main controller and the self-organizing controller is used to optimize main controller according to the updating conditions output by slide mode controller. It is suggested that the traditional linear controller can be replaced by slide mode controller to output the optimizing condition which can enhance the robust of PSS to restrain change of parameters, non-linearity and noise. The results of theoretical analysis and simulation show that the dynamic performance of the proposed FPSS is better than traditional fuzzy stabilizer.
