STUDY OF SIMULATION OF TRANSFORMER WITH INTERNAL FAULTS

In order to research the variation law of electrical quantities such as the primary and secondary currents and the terminal voltages at the primary and secondary side when internal fault occurred within power transformer, the existing simulation model for internal fault in power transformer is improved, based on this original model the nonuniform distribution of the windings in transformer is considered, then the simulation of power transformer internal fault is carried out with simulation software ATP. The comparison of the results from simulation and those from experiments shows that the improved model is more accurate than existing one.
