Impact of Wind Speed Correlation on Operation Characteristics of Distribution Network

Positions of different wind turbine generators connected to the same distribution network are relatively close to one another,so the wind speed has a strong correlation.A wind speed correlation(WSC) model is established by inverse Nataf transformation,and based on Monte Carlo probabilistic load flow and chance constrained programming the impacts of WSC on operation characteristics of distribution network and the maximum installed capacity of wind turbine generators are researched,and an improved index of wind power penetration is proposed.Research results show that WSC greatly impacts both operation characteristics of distribution network and the maximum installed capacity of wind turbine generators,so considering WSC can guide the planning and operation of the distribution network connected with wind turbine generators more reasonably.In the improved index of wind power penetration both randomness and fluctuation of wind power output are considered,so it can characterize the impact of network-connected wind turbine generators on power system more accurately and reasonably.
