Design of Superconducting Energy Storage Converter Based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control

Superconducting magnetic energy storage(SMES)is a device storing electric energy in the form of electromagnetic energy,it has broad application prospects in improving the stability of power system and the power quality of grid,smoothing the output of intermittent energy.This paper aims at the deficiency of the existing SMES control,introduces the auto disturbance rejection control(ADRC)into the power control scheme of SMES.Firstly,the general design method of ADRC is introduced.Secondly,the SMES double closed loop active disturbance rejection control scheme is designed based on the mathematical model of SMES.Finally,the simulation is carried out in MATLAB/simulink environment,and the dynamic performance of SMES is compared with traditional PI control and auto disturbance rejection control.The simulation results show that,under the condition of power reference value change and system parameter variation,the proposed method can overcome the defects of traditional PI controller for SMES power control,and control the SMES power quickly without overshoot,and restrain the influence of the disturbance effectively.
