Nonlinear Quantization and Interpolation Block Truncation Coding

A new scheme for image compression coding is proposed. In consideration of the correlation between the picture elements, it is produced form the combination of block truncation coding, interpolation,nonlinear quantization. The scheme has many excellent features :high compressing ratio,strong resistance to interference,simple algorithm and easy realization in hardware. Especially it can overcome the faults appeared by using various other coding method alone. The expected results was achieved in computer simulation experiments. The reconstructed image is verygood in SNR and perception.
