The contents of hydroxyproline were determined and then the contents of collagen were obtained. Results 12 weeks later, little difference of the contents of collagen, hexosamine and sulfate were observed between control group and estrogen deficiency group. But the decline trend of collagen contents was observed. 24 weeks later, the contents of collagen, hexosamine and sulfate of estrogen deficiency group declined compared with control group. Conclusions Deficiency of estrogen can decline the contents of organic compounds in cartilage.
