Detection of the biochemical characters of Yersinia pestis isolated from Microtus Fuscus in plague natural focus

Objective To detect the biochemical characters of Yersinia pestis isolated from Microtus Fuscus in plague natural focus by biochemical tests,and to compare the difference with that from Marmota Himalayana and Microtus Brandti.Methods The biochemical tests including Rhamnose,Glycerol,Maltose,Arabinose,Elibiose,Xylose,Melizitose,Lactose,Salicin,Sorbose,Mannitol,Esculin,Dextrin,Sucrose,Galactose,Cellobiose,Sorbitol,Urea,Sodium Citrate,KNO3 are conducted.Results There are significant differences on biochemical characters between Yersinia pestis isolated from Microtus Fuscus and that from Marmota Himalayana identically in geographic setting and ecological environment,while there are similarities between Yersinia pestis isolated from Microtus Fuscus and that from Microtus Brandti distantly in geographic setting and ecological environment.Conclusions The biochemical characters of Yersinia pestis is more related to host.
