Study on Risk Factors for Human Brucellosis in Meilisi District,Qiqihaer City

Objective To identify risk factors of human brucellosis in non-pasturing areas.Methods 1∶3 matched case-control study was conducted.The case group included 30 persons which were screened from a cross-sectional study on brucellosis in 2008.90 persons who were matched by age,sex and village were selected into the control group.Both cases and controls were interviewed with questionnaire about the way to contact animals and their products.Conditional logistic regression was performed to analyze the data.Results Multivariate analysis results indicated that four factors were associated with brucellosis: cashmere-Carding,lamb-holding once in a while,exposure to aborted animals,assistance in cattle delivery.Conclusions Cashmere-Carding,lamb-holding,exposure to aborted animals and assistance in cattle delivery were important risk factors of brucellosis.
