Reason and analzing of 63 cases of delayed recovery after general anesthesia

Objective To analyze the reasons of delayed recovery after general anesthesia in order to improve the safety of general anesthesia.Methods In this study,63 cases of delayed recovery after general anesthesia were collected in our hospital from February 2012 to April 2013,and the reasons of delayed recovery after general anesthesia were concluded and summarized.The patient's recovery degrees after general anesthesia were evaluated using Ramsay score.Results 63 patients were successfully operated.One patient died of respiratory failure.The average recovery time for the remaining 62 patients was(5.2±1.8)h.The Ramsay score when waking was(1.9±0.2),which was significantly lower than that of patients when surgery was done.The reason for delayed recovery after anesthesia included anesthesia overdose,lack of sleep and physical fatigue,hypothermia,preoperative CO2 accumulation,and other unknown reasons.A nesthesia overdose was the leading reason for delayed recovery after general anesthesia,accounting for 50.79% of the total numbers,followed by personal factors of patients(such as lack of sleep,and fatigue),which accounted for 33.33%.Conclusion There are a lot of reason for delayed recovery after anesthesia.The anesthesiologists should do adequate preparation before surgery,strengthen the standardization use of narcotic drugs and management during surgery,closely monitor the patient's vital signs,anticipate a variety of postoperative complications,and give timely treatment to improve the safety and quality of anesthesia general anesthesia.
