Numerical simulation on cross wedge rolling of shaft parts with eccentric section

A new methodology of cross wedge rolling of shaft parts with eccentric section was presented,and the roller profile surface of tools was provided.The cross wedge rolling deformation process of shaft parts with eccentric section was simulated with three-dimension finite element soft LS-DYNA by using elastic-plastic finite element method.The deformation process,the distribution of stress-strain and the technology characteristics of shaft parts with eccentric section were analyzed.Simulation results indicate that the new methodology of cross wedge rolling of shaft parts with eccentric section is feasible,the rolling force is small and the deformation is easy to control.
