Long-term Culture of Goat Small Antral Follicles in Vitro

Li Jian Wang Jianchen Zhu Jianchu Kang Jinquan(Department of Veterinary Science ,Northwestern Agricultural University, Yangling, Shaanxi 712100)  
Intact goat small antral follicles were dissected from ovaries by a microsurgical method and cultured individually in 24—well tissue culture plate. The results showed that, goat small antral follicles could survive 6~25 d and preserve steroidogenesis and oocyte development during the culture period. The culture system which contains 1 IU/ml FSH, 1 IU/ml LH and 10 ng/ml IGF-I in the basic medium was most suitable for the long-term culture of goat small antral follicles in vitro.
