Correlation Analysis of Serum Calcium and Phosphorus Levels and Egg Quality in Different Laying Periods of Hyline Brown Layers

Eggshell quality is an important production performance indicator of the laying hens.There are few reports about the correlation between the blood calcium and phosphorus concentrations in different laying period and the egg quality of Hyline brown laying hens.This paper focused on the correlation between the serum calcium and phosphorus concentrations and the changes of the egg quality in order to improve the egg quality and provide theoretical basis for the safeguard of the health and production of Hyline layers.Random single factor variance test was designed,and Hyline brown laying hens in the early laying period(23weeks),peak period(43weeks)and late laying period(71weeks)were selected,8hens in each period.The body weight were recored and blood were collected.Eggs on the same day were collected,18 eggs for each period.The results showed that blood calcium improved with the increase of age,and there were significant differences(P0.05).There were no significant differences in the blood phosphorus(P0.05).The thickness and strength of eggshells decreased in the late period compared with the early and peak periods(P0.05).Egg quality indicators were in the normal range.The above results indicated that egg quality decreased in the 71 week,and there were discorders of calcium and phosphorus metabolism,so the contents of calcium and phosphorus in the feed should be increased to improve egg quality.
