Evaluation of PCV-2 Comprehensive Immune and Maternal Antibodies in Swine

The porcine circovirus type-2(PCV-2)participates in the cause of disease syndromes which are very complicated,vaccine immunization effect is affected by various factors.Now,a vaccine that would produce actual results or influence other vaccine immune effects is not yet clear.In order to solve this problem,we designed the tests consisted of three sows and four treatment groups of piglets based on the characteristics of the vaccine strain WH.The monitoring of immune antibody and maternal antibody changes is helpful to the evaluation of PCV-2 vaccine and immune effects of other vaccines(classical swine fever,highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome and type-O foot-and-mouth disease).The results showed that the piglets with one immunization cannot achieve the ideal immune effect,while effects of interval of 2 to 3 weeks to strengthen immunity were well,and protective antibody sustainability is more than 105 days.Twice immunization to sows before mating and birthing may keep higher maternal antibody levels in piglets after weaning when the age of 28 days.These results indicated that PCV-2 vaccine could not influence the immune effects of other three types of vaccines.
