To establish a rat model of nephrotic syndrome and investigate the optimum conditions for different administration dosages of adriamycin, the single intravenous injection of adriamycin was used. The mortality was 60%for 7.5 mg/kg dose group,15% for 6.5 mg/kg dose group, and 5% for 5.5 mg/kg dose group, respectively in rats. The urinary protein content in 5.5 mg/kg dose group was lower than that in other two groups.By a comprehensive comparison of the mortality, urinary protein content and mental status, the adriamycin nephrotic syndrome model can be best reproduced with a single intravenous dosage of 6.5 mg/kg adriamycin in rats.
