Effects of Naringin on PCSK9-LDLR Expressions and Blood Lipid Metablism in Rats

To study the lipid-lowering effects of naringin in experimental hyperlipidemia rats,60 female SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups,control group,high lipid model group,low dose preventive groups,high dose preventive group,low dose treated group,high dose treated group.The low dose was 10 mg/kg and the high dose was30 mg/kg.After five weeks,hepatic proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK9)and low-density lipoprotein receptor(LDLR)mRNA expressions,serum triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were determined.Hepatic PCSK9 expressions,serum TC,TG,LDL-C levels of rats in four naringin treated groups were decreased compared with the high lipid model group.Hepatic LDLR expressions and serum HDL-C level of rats were significant increased compared with the high lipid model group.The prevention and cure of the hyperlipidemia of rats may regulate through PCSK9-LDLR pathway.
