Advances in Immune Evasion Mechanisms of Plasmodium falciparum

Malaria,a disease caused by Plasmodium parasites and transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes,remains one of the most deadly diseases.In recent years,the prevention and treatment of malaria has been plagued by the widespread of resistant malaria strains and the rapid spread of mosquitoes resistant to pesticides.Therefore,the need to develop a vaccine to protect against malaria has been highlighted.The immune evasion mechanism of Plasmodiumis one of the problems.Therefore understanding of the immune evasion mechanism of malaria parasite on the prevention and treatment of malaria has a very important role.In this article,we described the mechanisms that allow the Plasmodium parasite to evade immune clearance by antigen polymorphism,antigenic variation,epitope masking and so on.
