Chinese herbal medicines(CHM)contain a variety of components, polysaccharide is one of its main active components. As a bioimmune regulator, polysaccharide plays an important role in improving the immune function,anti-tumor and anti-viral infection of the body.Dendritic cells(DCs)are a types of typical dendritic shaped, mainly derived from bone marrow or blood hematopoietic stem cells and peripheral blood mononuclear cells. They are the only antigenpresenting cell type which can induce the immune response for the first time, also linked to the innate and adaptive immune responses, and play an important role in mediating the body's immune response. In recent years, some studies about CHM polysaccharides promoting the maturation and function of DCs were carried out. This review focused on CHM polysaccharides regulating the maturation and function of DCs,enhancing antitumor and antiviral functions and the mechanism of CHM polysaccharides on DCs and so on.
