Development and Application of Bivalent Inactivated Vaccine against E.coli and C-type Clostridium perfringens in Piglets

In order to develop bivalent inactivated vaccine against E.coli and C-type Clostridium perfringens in piglets,the strains C83549(K88),C83644(K99),C83710(987 P)of E.coli and strains C59-2 of C-type Clostridium perfringens were inoculated into suitable media,respectively.The pili of E.coli and exotoxin of Clostridium perfringens type C were extracted,inactivated and detoxificated,then lyoprotectant was added,and freeze-dried bivalent inactivated vaccine was made.The vaccine trait test and sterility test were qualified.The vaccine was safe in piglets and pregnant sows.After vaccinating pregnant sows by this vaccine,the results showed more than 80% protection rate for piglets fromE.coli and C-type Clostridium perfringens challenges.The clinical application showed that the vaccine could obviously improve the litter survival in immunized sows.
