Discuss on the Origins of Xiao, a Han Family Name of Consort Clan in Liao Dynasty

Du Xingzhi;
As for the origins of Xiao,a Han family name of Consort Clan,Chinese and foreign scholars have conducted long-term research and discussion,and proposed many knowledgeable arguments.However,there is no united opinion up to now,so the origins of Xiao is deserved to be studied further.In sum,there are five different opinions on the origins of Xiao:one is the homophonic saying of"Xiao Han"(小汉)and"Xiaohan"(萧翰);the second is it originates from Kitanyes'Totem worship for Black Cow and White horse;the third one is that is from the descendants of Xiao Empress in Liao Dynasty;the fourth is a transliteration of"Shenmi"and"Sulv";the fifth is the analogue with Xiao of Han Nationality.Analyzing various arguments mentioned above,the last one is the quite right answer.
