Application of Building Energy Simulation in Building Envelop Retrofit

With the energy-saving retrofit of a hotel located in Shanghai as the object of the study,three ways are proposed in which building envelope is reconstructed to reduce energy consumption: external insulation of exterior wall,external insulation of roof and retrofit of exterior window.Annual air-conditioning energy consumption is simulated before and after the retrofit by building simulation software,and is analyzed in terms of cost.The analysis result shows retrofit of exterior window is most economical.
