Tunable bandpass filter based on cross-coupled structure

A compact four-pole tunable filter with two transmission zeroes was proposed, which realized the miniaturization and the tunability of the filter with cross coupled structure. Using folded ?/2 microstrip resonator with lumped capacity loaded, the center frequency of the filter was tuned with absolute constant bandwidth. Based on cross coupling, a pair of transmission zeroes was deliberately designed at both sides of the passband to significantly improve the filter selectivity. The folded L type of resonator made a progress on the miniaturization of the microstrip filters. With no capacitor loaded, the center frequency of the filter is 2 GHz, the bandwidth is 100 MHz and the insertion loss is 4.5 d B. With lumped capacitor loaded which increases from 0 p F to 4 p F, the center frequency of the filter decreases from 2.05 GHz to 1.27 GHz. And the insertion loss increases from 4.5 d B to 6.4 d B while the bandwidth keeps constant.
