Distribution Characteristics and Environmental Significance of Heavy Metallic Elements in the Xiamen-Zhangzhou Soil Section

ZHANG Yin-e(Fujian Geological Survey Institute,Fuzhou 350013,China)
The distribution characteristics of 8 heavy metallic elements including Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd,Cr,Ni,Hg and As,and vertical variations of the total and available contents of three heavy metallic elements(Cu,Pb,Zn) from 9 soil profiles were studied in two cities of Xiamen and Zhangzhou,Fujian Province,by ICP-AES,AAS and XRF.The paper also discussed the environmental significance of these heavy metallic elements in soil profiles. The results indicated that some metallic elements exhibited similar rules of migration-enrichment in the top soil layer. The dependence of effective form and whole quantity of the three elements Cu,Pb,Zn tended to decrease with increasing depth, indicating that the correlation between the total and effective form contents of the elements Cu,Pb,Zn is closely related to human activities.
