Magnitude deviation analysis for surface wave magnitude determined by Lianyungang Seismic Station

In this paper, the surface wave magnitudes determined by Lianyungang Seismic Station during the year 2013 to 2014 are sorted out and contrasted to the magnitudes promulgated on China Earthquake Networks Center. The mean value of magnitude deviation between the magnitudes from Lianyungang Seismic Station and those from China Earthquake Networks Center is counted. Besides, the relationships between magnitude deviation and magnitude size, epicentral distance and the location of epicenter are analyzed. The results show that, first. MS(LYG) is lesser than MS(CENC) by 0.22 magnitude in numerical value; second, the magnitude deviation is becoming lesser when the epicentral distance is growing longer; third, the magnitude deviation is negative value in different location of epicenter and those happened in the northeast and northwest of Lianyungang Seismic Station where the deviation value is maximum,-0.24, while the minimum value is-0.2 in the southwest.
