Cross-Sectional Power Distribution of Offset Launched Multimode Optical Fiber

Optical power distribution of offset - launched multimode optical fiber is calculated and measured. Cross -sectional power distribution of the multimode optical fiber is calculated by the ray tracing method and measured by the CMOS optical detector array, in the case of different offsets and different length of the optical fiber. The results of the numerical calculation and experimental measurement consistently indicate that more high order modes are excited with growing of the launching offset and the angular uniformity of the power distribution increases with the length of the optical fiber.
