Current-Sensorless Maximum Power Tracking System Based on Duty Cycle

In order to reduce the power loss of the energy collection system,a new Power Point Tracking( MPPT)system based on duty cycle is proposed. Traditional MPPT methods need to be measured by DC or open circuit voltage. The proposed scheme can achieve the maximum power extraction without the need of DC measurement. The MSP430 microcontroller is implemented,and the MPPT algorithm is adjusted to suit the characteristics of the thermoelectric generator. The lagging voltage regulator is capable of maintaining the output voltage of the thermoelectric generator at the reference level so that the maximum power can be extracted according to the given temperature condition. Experimental results show that the proposed MPPT energy collection system has simple structure,low cost,low power consumption,and can be used for all kinds of small scale sustainable power generation.
