Electronic Microscopy Study on Cell Coat of Bladder Epithelium

The cell coat of bladder epithelium and it's alteration during embryo development have been examined by means of Ruthenium Red staining and lectin labelling techniques. The results demonstrated that a thick layer of cell coat existed along the epithelium cell surface of bladder, which can be stained by Ruthenium Red (about 40-60nm thick) and showed different sensitivities when labelled with lectin Con A and WGA respectively. In the process of development, the extent of WGA labelling desereases as AUM protein increases. This data indicates that the composition of baldder epithelium cell coat may alter during embryo development.
