Objective To investigate the level changes of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood in the children with acute asthma attacks and their signficance. Methods Using direct immunofluorescence to compare the results of T lymphocyte subsets in 54 children with acute asthma attacks and 52 healthy subjects measured by flow cytometry basinge on the items CD3 +T cell,CD4 +T cell,CD8 +T cell and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio. Results The level of CD4 + T cell in the children with acute asthma attacks was significantly higher than in normal subjects (P0.05);CD4 +/CD8 + ratio was also significantly higher than that in normal subjects (P0.05).There were no significant differences in the level of CD3 +T and CD8 +T cells between the children with acute asthma attacks and healthy subjects (P0.05).Conclusions The level of CD4 +T cell and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio in the children with acute asthma attacks was significantly higher than than in normal subjects,CD4 +T cell plays an important role in asthma chronic airway inflammation.
