Reporting Status on STD Epidemic in Hubei Province,2003-2004

Objective To strengthen the management and enhance the quality of the reporting system of STD epidemic to understand the real situation of the STD epidemic and to provide information for establishing STD control program.(Methods)Checking the daily registration record, STD testing record and the registration record in the Health Department.(Results) All the investigated institutions had professionals and system for infectious-disease reporting,all the professionals had some basic knowledge of STD and AIDS.The average rate of STD patient reporting was 80.94%,the average rate of missing report was 19.06%.The average rate of timely reporting(i.e.from the first visit to reporting) was 73.35%,and the average timely accepting rate(from reporting to accepting the card) was 37.81%.The average rate of complete-report was 77.07%,the average accurate rate was 71.49%.Conclusion According to the law,disease-reporting should be taken as a routine work,and the consciousness of disease-reporting of the medical workers at all levels should be enhanced so as to avoid miss-reporting.
