Study on Oncomelania hupensis potential distribution area rapid qualitative identification method in Changjiang

Objective According to historical survey about schistosomiasis morbidity,knowledge,and behavior test showed Changjiang waterway transport staves have more opportunity to contact infested water than others and lack ability to identify the habitat which Oncomelania hupensis prefer and prevented by themself. So,A rapid qualitative identification method shoud be established.Methods Through analying five factors which containted hydrology( high-flow,medium-flow and low flow),water and soil nutrition levels( high-level,medium-level and low level.),substrate habitat( grass,shrub,forest,dry land,channel and revetment),soil humidity( humid and arid) and climate( hot,warm and cold),that probably influence Oncomelania hupensis growth. to rapidly and qualitatively identify the Oncomelania hupensis potential distribution area. Results Oncomelania hupensis potential distribution area identification plot have been established by five factors and it could help staves quickly assessed unknown area and illustrated the possibility of Oncomelania hupensis exist by high probability( ≥60. 00%),medium probability( 30. 00%-60. 00%),low probability( ≤30. 00%). Conclusion The method is aim at helping staves keep away from the infected water and reducing the risk of schistosomiasis. However,it is still in research and testing stage,and we hope it can be used in all of water staves in further.
