Content of 31 elements in commercially arailable bitter tea in Hubei Province

Objective To investigate the contect of 31 elements in bitter tea in Hubei province,and to reveal the ingestion risk of them. Methods 67 samples were collected from11 areas in Hubei province,Pb,Cd,Hg,As,Al,Cr,Ni,Cu,V,Se,V,Mn,Li,Sb,Ba,Sn and 16 kinds of rare earth elements were detected by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The test results were compared with national standards. Results In the 67 samples,only 6 samples met the national standard,and the qualified rate was 8. 96 %. The lead,cadmium,total arsenic and rare earth in bitter tea were exceeded. The detection rate of each element was61. 19%-100. 00%,with the lowest detection rate of lithium,61. 19%. The detection rate of Pb,Cd,As,Al,Cr,Ni,Cu,Se,V,Mn,Ba,and rare earth were all 100. 00%. In some samples,Pb,Cd,As and rare earth content exceeded the evaluation standard. Cd levels were significantly higher,88. 06%. Conclusion There is a safety hazard in heavy metal pollution in bitter tea in Hubei province. The standard of heavy metal in tea is not perfect,and the relevant standards are recommended as soon as possible.
