The significance of the construction of digital three-dimensional model in vivo for uterus myoma's arterial network based on CTA

Objective To explore the method and significance of constructing the digital three-dimensional model in vivo for uterus myoma's arterial network based on computed tomographic angiography (CTA).Methods A series of Dicom 3.0 images were obtained from a patient with uterus myoma by utilizing dual source CTA.Then the Mimics 10.01 was used to construct the pelvic and the arterial network of uterus myoma,the images of the pelvic and the arterial network of uterus myoma were constructed and futher registered and fused by using the Mimics 10.01.Results The digital model showed every ascending branches of the pelvic arterial network clearly,especially the arteries that supply the leiomyoma.What's more,the model could not only provided the 3D overview from multi-direction and multi-angles for doctors,but also exactly measured the bifurcate angles and diameter of arteries that correlated closely with clinical application by using Mimics software.Conclusion The uterus myoma's arterial network model in vivo could be successfully constructed by using the technique of computer 3D reconstruction with database collected through CTA,which may provide the basis for chosing individualization evaluation and therapy of patients with leiomyoma.
