STUDY ON HIGH BRIGHTNESS ENAMEL ELECTROLUMINESCENT LAMPS

High brightness eramel electroluminescent (AC-EL) lamps have been fabricated by use of an improved enamel dielectric material and a special firing process. The keys to fabricate high brightness enamel EL lamps are the large dielectric constant and improved composition of the enamel medium resulting in the decrease of firing temperature of emissive layer from 800℃ reported to 680℃ and the addition of a certain amount of ZnO and activator. The brightness of the enamel EL lamps is 48cd/m2, 92cd/m2 and 10.6cd/m2 under the excitation of 400Hz -175V,1kHz-175V and 50Hz-220V, respectively, reaching the advenced level in China.
