Effects of Different Thinning Intensities on Physical and Chemical Properties of Soil in Quercus mongolica Plantation and Spinney in Eastern Liaoning Province

Cutting experiments with different intensities on Quercus mongolica plantation and spinney were conducted.Effects of different thinning intensities on physical and chemical properties of soil in Quercus mongolica plantation and spinney in eastern Liaoning Province were studied.Result shows that moderate thinning tending on Quercus mongolica plantation and spinney can increase significantly the biomass of forestland,increase correspondingly organic matter which litter returned to soil,improve the physical and chemical properties of the soil.The improvements of soil physical properties were mainly showed on the less of soil dense,increase in total porosity,capillary porosity and non-capillary porosity.The improvement of chemical properties mainly showed increase of organic matter,total nitrogen,available nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium.
