The Leaching Behavior of Heavy Metals of Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Fly Ash under Magnetic Effect

The physical and chemical characteristics of the municipal solid waste incineration fly ash were analyzed, and the heavy metal leaching behavior of the fly ash under different pH and magnetic field strengths was studied. The experimental results show that fly ash is a hazardous waste according to the identification criteria for leaching toxicity of hazardous wastes in China; fly ash is a mixture of crystal ore and non-crystal ore, which composed of many irregularly shaped, loosely-structured glassy particles. When the magnetic field intensity is 0.1 T, pH=4, the content of Pb leached from the fly ash is the highest; when the magnetic field intensity is 0.1 T, pH value is 2, the content of Cr leached from the fly ash is the highest. Therefore, by regulating the magnetic field strength and the pH value of the leachate, the heavy metals in the fly ash can be efficiently recovered to achieve resource utilization, reducing environmental pollution and human health risks.
