Research on the treatment of municipal wastewater by anaerobic-alternating aerobic-anoxic process (AAA)

Anaerobic-alternating aerobic-anoxic process (AAA) was employed to treat municipal wastewater. 37. 5 % COD was removed and the BOD/COD of wastewater increased from 0. 492 to 0. 557 when HRT of anaerobic stage was 3h. 76. 5% of T-N was removed during AAA stage when aeration fracti0n (AF) and the air on/off cyc1e period were kept at 50% and 6O min respectively. The factors affected the nitrogen removal of AAA stage were discussed in this paper.
