Enhanced Primary Treatment of Domestic Wastewater Using Coagulants

The application of different kinds of coagulants such as alum, alkaline aluminum chloride, poly-aluminum chloride (PAC), poly-ferric chloride (PFC) and ferric sulfate was compared. Coagulations of raw domestic wastewater using those chemicals respectively were studied in term of removal of COD, TN, TP and turbidity; effect of pH on coagulations was evaluated as well.Results indicated the better efficiency of alum-series coagulants than ferric-series ones.
