Adsorption of Orange Ⅱ onto Immobilized HDTMA-Modified Rectorite Microspheres

Aiming at increasing adsorption efficiency of dye onto rectorite and facilitating its application in industry,HDTMA was used to modify raw rectorite. HDTMA-modified rectorite was prepared into microspheres by PVA,sodium alginate. Performance,thermodynamics and kinetics for adsorption of Orange Ⅱ onto the microspheres were investigated. Results showed that isothermal adsorption law can well be described by Freundlich and Langmuir models. Enthalpy of activation for adsorption is larger than zero,and for adsorption system,which indicated that influence of activation entropy on adsorption was more remarkable. Increasing temperature properly is benefit to accelerate adsorption reaction. Adsorption kinetics law conforms to first order equation,second order equation,Bangham model and Elovich model. Adsorption process was mainly controlled by outer diffusion.
