Physicochemical Property of MSWI Fly Ash

Particle size distribution,microstructure and constitutes of MSWI fly ash were analyzed.Results indicated that size of 98%~99% fly ash particles was in the range of 4~100μm,with a loose structure and glass substance up to 59%,among which the existence of micro-balloon enhances its activity.It mainly includes 35.8% CaO,20.5% SiO2 and 5.8% Al2O3,featuring a SiO2-Al2O3-metal oxides system,with major mineral constitutes of SiO2,CaCl2,Ca3Si2O7,Ca2SiO4.0.35H2O,Ca9Si6O21.H2O,K2Al2Si2O8.3.8H2O and AlCl3.4Al(OH)3.4H2O as well as other silicates and alumino-silicates.Fly ash is therefore a useful material.
