Degradation of Two Kinds of VOCs by Non-equilibrium Plasma

Degradation of two kinds of VOCs including formaldehyde and styrene in DBD plasma was studied.Influence of discharging voltage,initial concentration and retention time on degradation efficiency was investigated.Energy consumption for degradation of the two substances was also analyzed.Results indicated that degradation rate showed different tendencies with increasing of discharging voltage,initial concentration and retention time.With increasing of discharging voltage and retention time,increasing velocity of formaldehyde was slower than that of styrene,and it tended to be mild at a certain voltage.However,degradation rate of styrene was dropping obviously with initial concentration increasing,while for formaldehyde, degradation rate was going up and then going down with initial concentration increasing,and showed an optimal concentration area of degradation.With higher input energy,energy utilization rate of styrene was higher than that of formaldehyde.
